Caring for Corals: An Ocean Health Project

Collaboration, passion, and a little bit of elbow grease can go a long way to help corals withstand the many pressures imposed on them.

Elizabeth Silleck La Rue and her husband, Deevon β€œWes” La Rue are regular volunteers with local coral restoration efforts and create ocean conservation education media, pro bono.

Help us help corals!

We volunteer weekly to help remove harmful macroalgae from coral habitats for Cozumel Coral Reef Restoration Program BUT we need more training and our own gear.

This week was special.

1. An enormous spotted eagle ray glided over coral nursery grids in the restoration area--check out the beautiful footage.

2. A couple of triggerfish decided I did not belong in their space.

3. Wes created and narrated this one!
