Want to move out of the US, but don’t know where to start?
Let us help you.
From deciding where to move and how much money to save, to figuring out what tasks should be prioritized and creating a plan, international relocation is a lot of work.
Many people who dream about moving out of the US stop before they even get started.
The tasks feel overwhelming.
The decisions feel too hard.
Inertia takes over.
The dream evaporates into a memory.
And it just never happens.
That doesn’t have to be your story.
Check out our services below and fill out the screening form to get started.
Conscientious Emigration Consulting
-
Conscientious emigration is emigrating with an intentional decision to consider and minimize impacts on our new homes abroad and to develop and practice cultural awareness and humility.
-
Generally speaking, people from the US have earned a poor reputation for our interactions and impacts abroad. Emigrating conscientiously is consistent with SCS’s values, and we aim to assist future emigrants who are committed to showing up in the world with respect, consideration, a sense of social responsibility, and an ethic of integrity.
-
SCS will work with any paying client who is committed to emigrating with their behavioral, economic, environmental, and cultural impacts on their new home in mind. We do not discriminate based on race, gender, class, sexuality, religion, or other markers of identity, but may give preference to those who feel unsafe in the US due identity-based discrimination. At this time, we are only accepting waitlist applications from those living in the US.
-
Legal advice: we are not and are not holding ourselves out to be immigration lawyers. Any advice provided should not be construed as legal advice.
-
There are numerous companies, networks, and services aimed at educating and assisting people seeking to emigrate. Why choose us?
Inclusivity: We do not exclude potential clients according to identity, but according to ethic. We will work with anyone who aims to emigrate conscientiously.
We are particularly interested in serving aspiring emigrants who find themselves falling outside the bounds of other targeted emigration services; for example, interracial families, queer families or individuals, religious minorities, or other often-overlooked folks who want to leave the US and find that existing services exclude them.
Success in lived experience. SCS’s CEO, Elizabeth Silleck La Rue, emigrated to Mexico with her husband and two dogs in 2022. They moved from idea to execution in only seven weeks, including securing legal temporary residency, housing, required import processes, and more. They hired no professional expertise and are now in their second year of legal temporary residency. Learn more at https://www.patreon.com/wavesandwifi
Elizabeth also has lived experience navigating the US immigration system on behalf of family members.
Professional experience. The SCS team has deep experience managing complex projects, navigating bureaucracies, analyzing policies, and turning vision into reality. Although SCS does not provide legal services, Elizabeth is a licensed attorney; this expertise helps her to think strategically, troubleshoot future issues, and plan holistically around priorities and processes for the smoothest emigration journey.
Personalized attention. Although we have not yet released our full offerings, we will be providing one-on-one support to walk clients through the decision-making processes and action items necessary to make your emigration dream a reality. We are not here to simply inspire; we are here to help you plan, act, and achieve.
